Cayucos is one of California's last original beach towns. Situated just twenty minutes north of San Luis Obispo on Scenic Highway One, Cayucos offers a relaxed atmosphere with wonderful unspoiled beaches, a popular beachside boardwalk and a pier for fishing and enjoying the sunsets. Cayucos, California Tsunami photos from March 11, 2011. The first image was taken at 8:10am PST at the normal tide level prior to the tsunami. The following beach cam photos show the water receding approximately 50 - 100 yards then flowing back to a very high tide line and back to the normal tide level while local surfers live for the danger.
